Perfumer Veronique Nyberg

Born in a small village in the French Alps, Véronique Nyberg's passion for plants was fueled by her botanist grandmother. Surrounded by the scents of wildflowers and the natural beauty of her surroundings, Véronique chose to study science and eventually earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry.

Véronique's adventure in perfumery began with an internship in Grasse, where she worked as a quality controller of raw materials. Although she aspired to become a perfumer, she lacked the necessary training and decided to complete her doctorate first. Fate intervened when Véronique came to work as a chemist at the Dutch branch of IFF.

Her subsequent training at IFF opened the doors to operational perfumery and she was eventually selected to attend IFF's perfume school in Grasse. During her time at school, Véronique immersed herself in the world of perfume, learning to extract absolutes and working with raw materials.

Her first perfume was created in New York, where she discovered the joy of perfume creation. On her return to Paris, she completed her training under the guidance of renowned perfumer Dominique Ropion.

Her appreciation for color and texture combinations, as well as contrasts in perception, influences her work as a perfumer. Véronique's fascination with green notes, probably rooted in her alpine upbringing, is a signature aspect of her perfumes. She often incorporates vibrant, almost shocking, green top notes into her creations. White flowers, such as orange blossom and jasmine, are also among her favorite materials to work with.
