Giorgio Armani is an Italian fashion designer, best known for his menswear. He started as a window dresser and worked his way up to a menswear buyer. From 1960 to 1972, he was a designer at Nino Cerutti, after which he worked as a freelancer before founding his own brand in 1975. That year, he presented his first men's collection, followed by womenswear.
In the late 1970s and 1980s, Armani expanded his brand to include several lines, including jeans, underwear and accessories. In collaboration with L'Oréal, Giorgio Armani Beauty introduced the first perfume for women in 1982, followed by a men's fragrance in 1984.
