Perfumer Louise Turner
Louise Turner is a renowned perfumer who has created some of the most successful fragrances for various brands in the industry. Born and raised in the south of England, Turner discovered her love of fragrance through the wild flowers of her hometown of Kent, particularly honeysuckle and lilac. She studied dentistry, but became interested in perfumery during a break from her studies during a temporary job at Quest (now Givaudan).
Turner has been a perfumer at Givaudan since 2000 and has collaborated with several brands such as Roberto Cavalli, Thierry Mugler and Maison Martin Margiela. She has a style that is cheerful, radiant and uplifting, often inspired by her favorite flowers such as orange blossom, jasmine, wisteria or tuberose. Turner is known for her ability to evoke not only the scent of flowers, but also the texture of petals and the sense of pleasure they bring.
Some of Turner's notable creations include Boss The Scent For Her Magnetic for Hugo Boss, Chérie for Kate Spade, Bad Boy Extreme for Carolina Herrera, and Good Girl Collector Gold Fantasy 2022 for Carolina Herrera. She also created Lazy Sunday Morning for Maison Martin Margiela, reflecting her love of nature and the color white.
Turner describes her work for commercial brands as more restrictive due to consumer testing and the involvement of different people in the creation process. On the other hand, working with niche brands gives her more freedom and the ability to follow her own ideas without the need for compromise.
