A master perfumer with a unique personal story and approach to perfume creation, Loc Dong has left an indelible mark on the perfume industry. As the first Asian perfumer for fine fragrances, he has broken down barriers and paved the way for future generations. His journey, from fleeing Vietnam at a young age to becoming a master perfumer, is a testament to his resilience and determination.

Born in Saigon, Loc Dong spent his childhood in a remote village 30 kilometers north of the city. Here he developed his olfactory vocabulary while helping his grandfather, a local healer. Loc learned to harvest and sort plants by scent and used these skills to prepare remedies for the villagers. At the age of eleven, he fled Vietnam alone on a boat, eventually going to Malaysia and later to the United States.

Loc Dong's career in the perfume industry began at Haarman & Reimer in 1992. After a decade, he joined International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) in 2002, working between Paris and New York. In his 20 years of service at IFF, he rose to the rank of Senior Perfumer. Due to his outstanding achievements, German flavor and fragrance company Symrise named Loc Dong a Master Perfumer within their Fine Fragrances division.

Loc Dong's approach to perfume creation is deeply rooted in his early experiences in Vietnam. He considers himself a survivor rather than an artist and attributes his success to his resilience and determination. His unique perspective, combined with his extensive knowledge of plants and their properties, allows him to create fragrances that are both innovative and enchanting.

Throughout his distinguished career, Loc Dong has collaborated with numerous prestigious brands, including Al-Jazeera Perfumes, Animale, Avon, Azzaro, Beyonce, Calvin Klein, Dana, Danielle Steel, Elizabeth Arden, Emanuel Ungaro, Giorgio Armani, Hugo Boss, Issey Miyake, Keith Urban, Liz Claiborne, Marc Jacobs, Mariah Carey, Michael Kors, Natura, O Boticário, Paco Rabanne, Penhaligon's, Perry Ellis, ST Dupont, Taylor Swift, The Body Shop, Vera Wang and Yves Saint Laurent.
