David Apel, also known as Dave Apel, is one of the internationally ranked professionals in his field and currently the VP and Senior Perfumer at Symrise. He has composed numerous highly acclaimed fragrances, many of which have won awards from the American and European Fragrance Foundation.

David began his career in 1980 in the perfume laboratories of Givaudan, where he became fascinated with the raw materials of perfume creation and began a journey to study perfumery. After his apprenticeship, studies at home and abroad, and leading the Chromatography laboratory, he became a perfumer.

From 1993 to 1997, David worked as a perfumer for fine fragrances in Paris, where he joined Fragrance Resources and eventually returned to the United States to open their Fine Fragrance Creation Center in New York. In 2001 he returned to Givaudan as Executive Perfumer for Fine Fragrance and then joined the team at Symrise in 2007, bringing his international expertise and passion for creating beautiful, luxurious fragrances.
