Abercrombie & Fitch is an American lifestyle brand that has existed since 1892. Originally founded in New York as a luxury sporting and travel goods store, it closed in 1976, but was revived in 1978. In 1988, it was acquired and transformed into a high-end casual fashion brand for youth.
Today, Abercrombie & Fitch has more than 300 stores worldwide and is known for its modern, "preppy" clothing. The brand also has subsidiaries such as Abercrombie (children's clothing), Hollister Co. (affordable fashion for teens) and Gilly Hicks (lingerie and loungewear).
