Perfumer Nathalie Lorson
Nathalie Lorson creates for and with other people. For her, creativity is an act of generosity, depending on the exchange of ideas to share and express emotions. Undoubtedly a master of her art, she nevertheless remains humble and often avoids the limelight. Her greatest rewards are the "brief encounters" she has when she passes a stranger wearing one of her compositions.
She explains. “I am not doing this job for myself. The real goal is to hit people. People often ask me if I've created my own personal fragrance – but I don't care at all! I am not the focus of this work. I'm thinking about creating for someone else, for someone specific. I am not a movie star, not a painter posing next to her canvas. Actually, I am more of a writer who disappears behind her own words.”
Sensitivity and perseverance are central to her work. “I am a prospector looking for gold nuggets. We find a lot of gold dust, but not many nuggets! Nathalie's dynamism is remarkable, allowing her to juggle many projects at once. Her office is bursting at the seams with project folders, every shelf filled with her creations.
She aims to create simple yet resonant fragrances in which each ingredient is selected for quality, in the perfect dosage, to maximize the beauty of the final creation. She often quotes the author Antoine de Saint-Exupery: "Perfection is achieved - not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away."
